The Constitution of India mandated Equality of status and opportunity. It becomes meaningful only when they are able to access information and facilities. International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December is observed every year with an aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Every year in India and over the world the day is observed in various ways. Every year, the rhetoric and call for compassion for the disabled returns to familiar seminar halls on World Disability Day, observed every December 3. But those who live with disability still point towards the basic issues accessibility to public places, transportation, visits to markets, etc. Before anything, a physically challenged person wants a little sensitivity from the common man.
In remembrance of the Day and to ensure participation of persons with disability in each sphere of society, NIYATEE FOUNDATION has organized small awareness programme for the Youth & volunteer. With an objective to strengthen the youth power to ensure accessibility rights of persons with disability in every sphere of society.
