International Day for Persons with Disability
The Constitution of India mandated Equality of status and opportunity. It becomes meaningful only when they are able to access information and facilities. International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December is observed every year with an aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Every year in India and over the world the day is observed in various ways.
