AREA OF ACTIVITY

EDUCATION AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

Skill development is critical for economic growth and social development. International Labour Organisation rightly observes that education, vocational training and lifelong learning are central pillars of employability, employment of workers and sustainable enterprise development. On its path of fast economic growth the country faces a dual challenge of severe paucity of highly-trained, quality labour, as well as non-employability of large sections of the educated workforce that possess little or no job skills. We at Niyatee Foundation strive to

impart skill training to youths to enable them to secure wage employment or self-employment. In our selection of beneficiaries our priority remains with the disadvantaged section like ST,SC,Women and differently enabled. We conduct regular training on IT/ITES,Beauty and Hair care and other trades. Our skill development also include coaching eligible youths in specialised mental and physical skill required to enter Government/Banking jobs and armed force. For educational development we map the school dropout among street/slum children and facilitate their resumption.

ORGANIC FARMING

To grow healthy fruits and vegitables and regenerate nutrient in soil through natural manure and save the poor farmers from the high cost inputs like pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, antibiotics and growth hormones we have recently entered into the area of organic farming.Currently we are conducting baseline survey in some tribal pockets to know the status of ongoing agricultural practices.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Despite constitutional mandate, gender bias is still deeply embedded in our culture, economy, political and social institutions. Women and girls face unacceptable levels of discrimination and abuse, which is not only wrong, but also prevents them from playing a full part in society and decision-making. Swami Vivekananda, one of the greatest sons of India said , "There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing. "We,in Niyatee Foundation undertake several initiatives to enable women and girls find their voice, their power and their community. Our motto is reflected in Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai famous quote "I raise up my voice-not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard.we cannot succeed when half of us are held back."

Undertaking Baseline Survey

The purpose of a baseline study is to provide an information base against which to monitor and assess an activity’s progress and effectiveness during implementation and after the activity is completed. Without baseline data, it can be very difficult to plan, monitor and evaluate future performance. Baseline data help to set achievable and realistic indicator targets for each level of result in a project’s design (e.g. logframe), and then determine and adjust progress towards these targets and their respective results. The road to a good monitoring and evaluation system is paved with a sound baseline survey. Due to our expertise in conducting baseline study for implementation of social development projects under support from CSR or Government fund, many agencies assign us their baseline survey work. Our survey for Balasore Alloys Ltd was highly acclaimed in corporate circle.

In all our functions also we distribute saplings among participants and bundle a plant to each prize that we offer in any competition. World Environment Day is celebrated brainstorming on small and easy daily practices bringing big impact on environment.

DIGITAL VILLAGE

Though India is among countries who are in the forefront of digital revolution, there remains significant disparity between urban and rural areas in digital knowledge and infrastructure resulting in digital divide. We at Niyatee Foundation strive to bridge this divide participating in Digital India programme of Government. A Digital Village is often seen as an idea that can help remove this Digital Divide, enabling development to reach underdeveloped regions, and the country to achieve inclusive growth. A "Digital Village" refers to that village that has voice as well as data connectivity.

We conduct regular awareness programme in villages about how information technology bring better productivity in all aspects of life. We also train people of villages on basic computing devices such as computer, tab, mobile phone, ATM etc.

Agriculture being the mainstay of villages we aware farmers on usefulness of information about weather, agricultural inputs, sowing and harvesting methods, access to finance and markets, and the facility to bank online. Our particular focus remain on achieving more digital banking and commercial transaction to progress towards cashless rural economy for which we facilitate the opening of more bank accounts and use of digital financial instruments by the rural people.
